This is not an album from big studios, with sponsors and advertisements. This is an EP made up of five songs, created by people who can barely find the strength to survive everyday life. The intended B-side might be released someday, or maybe never—the Arno.mk team could only muster this much energy. Beaten down by reality, by politics, by ecological disasters, by unhealthy living and lack of prosperity—this is as much as we could do. Note: All tracks are in Macedonian.
In fact, it is a small miracle that the portal exists at all and continues to create anything. In conditions without funding, without support, powered solely by stubbornness and a borderline-mad persistence to do something. But why? For what better future? Will we change anything?
No. Because the means of change are in the hands of politicians, and they are interested only in their own profit. We are just cogs. And perhaps what we are doing will remain only as testimony—that awareness existed, that a desire for change existed, that ideas existed. Unfortunately, for now, they remain just that—ideas.
What makes this EP particularly significant is the fact that it is the first EP in Macedonian music created with the help of artificial intelligence. The songs were produced using Suno, the animations with MidJourney, and the videos with CapCut.
This project is proof that technology can become an ally of activism, creativity, and resistance. The idea, concept, and lyrics of the songs are by Arno.mk.
Five tracks, five blows against the wall of indifference. Five documents of a time in which people are exhausted, yet still have a voice. “City of Betting Shops” opens the theme of betting shops as new temples of addiction and hopelessness—a symbol of ruined lives and a lost future. With this song, the EP becomes an even stronger protest document, a testimony that the city, the state, and the people are still searching for hope and change.
