Creating
a strategy for social identity
Among
the many strategic ways that we should draw in different fields, we
find important the necessity for creating a strategy for social
identity. That is why we think, as example, that radical change
in the perception of the identity is a neccessary condition for a
bigger decentralization. Macedonia must build sustainable and
recognizable social identification, which would unite all the people
who live in the country, disregard to their ethnic or social
belonging. Among the others it was this things that our projects
dealt with in the last couple of years. For example, when the
creeping war began to roll in Macedonia, at the end of March 2001,
we organise an international symposium called "The Cultural
identity-difference within itself". It was an endlessly small
effort towards some kind of a peace alternative. As much as that
unifying social identification is important inside, in the country,
to contribute for peace and stability, it is very important for
outside, to be recognisible and more present, first of all in the
region and in EU.
But even on a broader level: there is shortage of capacities for
strategic thinking. It is one of the big broblems in the region,
although at first glance it does not appear as the problem of the
unemployment, for example. But, sometimes it seems that it is the
problem of the small capacities for strategic thinking which
generates the other sick social anomalies. That is why we would like
to pay attention on this problem and that is why we are confronted
with the task of building capacities for strategic thinking on every
level, from economical to cultural.
