of photography’s by Aleksandar Grozdanovski On 18.04.2005. In 20,00, in the
Cultural Center Tocka an exhibition of photography’s by Aleksandar Grozdanovski,
called “Lumberjacks” will open. Aleksandar Grozdanovski is born in Bitola 1976.
He graduated photography at NATFIZ in Sofia, Bulgaria, 2004. Participated in
many group exhibitions and projects in Macedonia and Bulgaria. This is his third
solo exhibition. “…People-Machines?! No this is not about some futuristic,
industrial experience, but for one more precise presentation of simple,
marginalized persons by their machines. The method of making archives and the
choice of normal optic for the human
eye
gives us the right distance for objective perception of the story, which avoids
being transparent and easily readable. The idea is to documentate the short
moment of passivity and intimacy of man and his machine, the relationship
between people and machines, which is quiet, non-intrusive, even calm. The
lumberjacks’ faces express one very ordinary moment of their natural state,
being by the machines. This fragments from everyday life by the Bitola railway
do not pretend to make portrait of the social milieu, nor to introduce some
lyric in the “reading” of the process. The author does not close the frame, the
process is open. He gives us around thirty pieces built on the principles of the
contemporary documentary photography.
