The title of Marijeta
Sidovski's latest exhibition is "Tracks of time - somewhere
in my mind" immediately leads us inside the personal
memories presented to us by the Artist, trough six panels /
installations. |
The panels present a
merger of more elements, we can see their bases in the vertical and
static compositions, made from different natural materials which
keep treir own integrity (wood, wooden frames, windows, natural
fibretwine and japanese hand made paper), fullfilled with mobiles
made from the same materials, while the composition's staticness is
broken by graphic prints (again through the combinations of some
warm colours) on which a drawing of soft and circular lines
intervenes. This rich image base and the combination of different
materials not only heightens the atmosphere of warmness and
intimacy, in "conversations performed in an artistic way", but also
shines with a specific inner eqvilibrium. A part from the use of
natural materials and the instance of warmness and intimacy of the
personal stories and emotions, a third significant moment in
Marijeta's panels, which conects the previous two and directs toward
the title itself, is Time. Symbols of the traces of time are, above
all, the windows - sometimes 200 years old, which function as a
construction for highlighting the paintings and framing the
memories. Newertheless, the Artist, with her specific sensibility
lives space for a different reception and interpretation of the
symbols, and the window-painting themselves could be perceived as a
connection with nature and cyclic movement, as an opening towards
the intimacy or like a gateway into Art.

- biography
Born 1973
in Novi Sad. Finished High School for design - textile and fashion
design, in Novi Sad. Graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in
Skopje, painting department with conservation and restauration, in
the class of prof. Dushan Perchinkov.
