Poetry reading by six Slovenian
On 07. 05. 2003 in the
Cultural Center Tocka there was presentation and poetry
reading by six representatives of the contemporary Slovenian
poetry. The Slovenian literary context was presented by:
Brane Mozetic (1958), Taja Kranberger, Peter Semolic, Vera
Pejovic, Tone Skrjanec and Vida Mokrin - Pauer. |
After the
reading the meeting continued with open and critical discussion. The
questions that were opened within the conversation with the poets
were dealing with the comparative analysis of the experiences of
Slovenian and Macedonian poets, the poetry writing, the professional
status of the free lance artist, the promotion and the translation
of the national literatures abroad, the relationship with the state
and it's attitude towards the artwork, the work of the cultural
institutions, the magazines and the literary events and the way some
contemporary trends are treated like: rave culture, lesbian/gay
scene etc.
Organizer
and initiator of these presentation was the Macedonian poet Lidija
Dimkovska, who works as a translator and who live and work in
Slovenia. She also translated the works of the Slovenian poets for
this purpose. |
