"Women-activists in a cross-border action"
On 01.11.2002 in the cultural Center Tocka there was a
debate "Where the patriotism ends and where the nationalism
begins" in the frameworks of the project " Women-activists
in a cross-border action ". |
The
project " Women-activists in a cross-border action " is a three
years long -since 26 may to 10 june there was a caravan travelling
through the ex-yugoslav states and Albania. In Sarajevo, Pristine,
Belgrade and Skopje an exhibition with photo-portraits of the
participating women-activists by Philip Basin was opened.
This debate which is part of the project is the first of the six
others that are to follow through the whole territory of Macedonia.
It seems to us that it is most appropriate, regarding the context we
live in, to start the debates with the defining the terms that are
so often and easily used.
The
participants of the debate were: Jehona Gjurgejala - caravan
participant from Kosovo, Andreas Ernst - Balkanot correspondent for
Neue Zuriche Zaitung, Robert Alagjozovski -theoretitian, Lindita
Kadriu - journalist, Slavica Indzevska - deputy to the Executive
director of joint programmes in FIOOM. Moderator of the debate was
Nikola Gelevski - editor in chief of the magazine Margina.
This project is part of the cooperation with the French NGO
Transeuropeennes and with the partners from the Balkans region, and
it is financedby the European Union, French Ministry of Culture and
Charles Steward Mott Foundation.
