Promotion of "I" - trilingual antology of Macedonian poetry

The Promotion of "I" - trilingual (Macedonian, Albanian, English) antology of Macedonian poetry, published by Templum, took place in Tocka. Together with promotion there was a debate on a theme: "Who is the subject of Macedonian literature".

This book is aimed to make an intersection of the newest deeds from the macedonian poets from Albanian and macedonian ethnic origin. In the time where the mutual cooperation between the artists and the intelectuals from the two ethnic communitites are very rare, this edition was aimed to be a nucleus fro stablishing of such "integrative" practices in the language diversity in Macedonia.

We concider that the book would be best promoted if it is accompannied by a conversation where the macedonian and albanian poets and intelectuals would say their oppinions aboutthe actual problems that the title of the debate initiates. The debate was about to answer some theoretical, epistemological and socio-political issues which touch the literary theory, literary history, classification and periodization as well as the questions ofliterary legitimisation? The questions we arouse with this debate have never been seriously and transparently treated in the public discourse in the recent years, from the aspects from litarary theory as well as literary practice. The question of the subject of the Macedonian literature seeks a metatheoretical elaboration from the type: is the subject unique, centralistic, holistic, organic and collective or it is decetralised, plural, discontinued. Another level of reflection leads us to the following question: who is the subject of the Macedonian literature, is it the ethicity-nation or is it the political nation (which means the minority groups also); what to do with those subjects whoa are part of the ethnicity-nation by origin but live and/or work in other languages; does macedonian literature belongs only to the macedonian language or also on the minority languages in the state; if it is the one or the other where are the origins of the Macedonian literature; what to do with those subjects, members of the ethnicity-nation which are in the framework of the states but write on languages which are not spoken by language communities in Macedonia.
