In Situ - performance under curatorship
of Nade Peseva
On 3 July 2002, under
curatorship of Nade Peseva, there was a night on
performances entitled In Situ. The participants were: the
group OPA (Denis Saraginovski and Slobodanka Stevcevska)
whose performance was called "Ars selective", than Meto
Angelovski with the performance "OP-Disney", Irena Paskali
with performance "WC" and Stojce Tocinovski with the
performance "Moment/relativity" |
The performances held one after
another, with a certain agenda and duration, so that the audience
could see them carefully. OPA went first, than Stojce Tocinovski,
Meto Angelovski and Irena Paskali.
In the focus of the project is the fact that our existence is marked
by the traces we leave in time and space. Every action leave trace:
material, visual, sonic, psychological, metaphorical... The
process/the act of creation of an artwork finishes with its final
appearance before the audience, or when author would decide that it
is finished. So, the work (painting, sculpture, installation, film)
is a result of a longer planned and in advance prepared acting. But
what happens with those actions, which are only an everyday for us,
and to which we do not pay at least attention, and very often we do
it unconsciously or as a routine that the living in certain
surrounding is dictating or forcing it. Those acts become rituals
that create the reality giving it order and essence. The project is
aimed to (re) define not only the artistically aestheticised trace
but also the one that we called aesthetic in concordance with our
convictions and representations, and to pay attention on the
redirection from everyday and routine into author's attitude. The
four projects are doing exactly that. They define the trace in
several different ways. They are connected only through the
concept/the act of leaving trace/mark/residue without restrictions
on the theme and the attitudes they take to the problems they deal
with.
So the group OPA and Irena Paskali takes the everyday situations in
which the public should also take it's participation, while Meto
Angelovski and Davor Tocinovski perform an in advance planned action
that enacts through the act of drawing. The performance is an art
form that combines elements from the theatre, music, visual arts and
electronic technologies. With the appearance of the digital
technologies it became less actual, so one of the aims of this
project is its actualization and revitalization on the art scene. |
