On thursday and friday, 17 and 18 June, 2004, in Strumica,

creative artistic and intelectual core in Strumica in two different
cultural institutions.
|
First on 17 june on 19, 00, at the Workers' university "Josif
Sveshtarot" a night of promotion of the publishing programme of
Kontrapunkt and the project "Confluent margins" would held, and then
the debate "The author and it's context" would also take place. The
issue about Strumica, which is part of the publications "Towns in
Macedonia" would be presented. Strumica issue is well designed and
it's contents represents the point of view that the team of three
editors and around 15 collaborators had about their town. On the same
night the other publications would also be presented, the new 63 issue
of Margina as well as two new books from the Publishing house
"Templum".
The debate "Author and it's context" is based on the question of the
socio-cultural belonging of an author, of the way he is accepted by
his audience, by his community or the way he situate himself in the
context. There are different kind of contexts and the aim of the
debate is to interrogate the many of them.
Pannelists on the debate
are: Nikola Gelevski, Aco Gogov, Robert Alagjozovski, Iskra Geshoska,
Nikola Madzirov and Vladimir Jankovski.
On
18 June in the Art Gallery at the Cultural Centre of Strumica, Vane
Kosturanov will open his exhibition "A planet is scarcely bigger than
a house", that has already been shown in three other towns in
Macedonia: Skopje, Gostivar and Struga.
Vane Kosturanov is born 1979 in Strumica. He lives and works in
Strumica. He participated in several group exhibitions in the country.
His current preoccupation is the graphic design where he shows
extraordinary big results. Vane Kosturanov does not have a formal
visual education, which once again confirms the old rule that the
talent is still the most important thing in creating part.
The main obsession of Vane Kosturanov on his second solo exhibition,
is the house, which is given in the title. Transforming the famous
sentence by Saint Egzippery "His own planet is scarcely bigger than a
house" he reveals the meaning, which this motive has in their art.
Generally speaking paintings worked in oil on canvas, tree and paper,
and acryl stresses the feeling of intimacy and melancholy. The drawing
is "childish" only on first sight, while, on the other side, the color
is sometimes contrasting, but most often lyrical and balanced. This
exhibition contains of 30 paintings. |
